Residential Carpet Installations

Carpet can be a beautiful floor covering, that is soft & easy to get comfortable on.

The right carpet can be great for small children. With stain resistance and soft padding; bumps and bruises can be at a minimum.

I power stretch all of our carpet installations according to residential standards.
(Power stretching prevents your carpet from wrinkling in the future.)

All of my carpet seams are sealed on the exposed edges, before I make the seam permanent.
(Sealing exposed edges keeps the carpet edges from pulling apart. Making the seams much more durable.)
I do a thorough clean up of the project areas. This includes vacuuming, dusting of base boards, touch up paint for any mild scratches on baseboards, and placing any trash bags in your designated location.

Power Stretching

Carpet installed over padding needs to be power stretched 1% to 1½%

Failure to power stretch a carpet may result in:

Wrinkling and buckling over time
Localized damage to the carpet
Delaminating

CAUTION: Wrinkling and buckling are most often caused by the failure to adequately stretch the carpet using a power stretcher. as well as; the use of an inappropriate padding, adverse temperature and humidity conditions, or inadequate conditioning time.

Proper seam characteristics

With any method, a properly constructed seam:

Has cleanly trimmed edges properly secured with seam sealer.
Has tightly abutted edges without gaps or overlaps.
Maintains reasonable pattern match where applicable.
